When Should You Eliminate Nighttime Feedings?

All babies are different, which means each mom will have to play it by ear. Women with multiple kids will quickly learn this, as each of their children will exhibit differences in both sleeping and eating habits from a very early age. What comes easier each time is understanding the signs to see when their baby is ready to begin each stage.

Most babies are ready to start night weaning between four and six months, when they’re getting plenty to eat during the day. By the time bedtime rolls around, they can sleep five or six hours without eating. This goes for both breastfed and babies consuming sugar free formula.

But don’t fret if your little one is younger and sleeps through the night or wakes up in the night to eat when they’re older.
